Application Process for 25th Hospitality Scholarship Program
Scholarships to encourage & support Maine students pursuing hospitality careers
Freeport, ME – March 16, 2009 – The Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA), through their affiliation, the Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation, is now accepting applications for their 25th Annual Scholarship program, announced MEIA Executive Director Greg Dugal. The Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation scholarship program is designed to inspire and meet the partial needs of Maine students pursuing careers in hotel administration or culinary sciences.
“Tourism remains the largest industry and employer in the state, offering Maine residents a wide range of good job opportunities, “said Dugal. “We are pleased to support this vital industry with scholarships that provide both inspiration and partial support to local students pursuing careers in hospitality.”
Any Maine resident who has been accepted to a fully accredited school with specialties in hotel administration or culinary sciences, such as Beal College or Southern Maine Technical College, and is pursuing a career in hospitality is encouraged to apply for a scholarship award ranging from $500 to $2000. Applications must be received before April 10, 2009 and will be reviewed by a selection committee. Awards will be made based on scholarship merit, employment history, financial need, extra curricular activities and desire to work in hospitality.
More than 190 Maine students have been awarded over $120,000 in the past 24 years. For more information on the Education Foundation please call the Maine Innkeepers Association at 207-865-6100 or email email@example.com.
