MAINE INNKEEPERS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES ANNUAL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FUNDRAISER WITH 50% OFF ROOM RATES
Innkeepers entice visitors to Maine by slashing spring rates to raise funds for Maine Chapters of Habitat for Humanity
Freeport, ME –February 2, 2012 – Innkeepers all over the state of Maine will once again cut their rates by 50% in May to support “Hospitality for Habitat”, an annual Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) program designed to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity, announced MEIA Executive Director, Greg Dugal. This year participating Innkeepers will reduce their room rates by half between April 25 and May 23, 2012 for any guest willing to write a tax deductible, donation check made out to Habitat for Humanity for $35.
Hospitality for Habitat has raised close to $100,000 to help build homes for deserving Maine families since the program began in 2004. Each year participating Innkeepers and their guests have been able to increase the donation made to Habitat for Humanity. In 2011 the association raised $17,000 for the 9 Maine chapters of Habitat for Humanity.
“Despite a few years of challenging economic conditions the program continues to be a huge success,” stated Dugal. “Innkeepers and guests both enjoy giving back to Maine communities, knowing that every dollar donated goes directly towards building a home for a Maine family. And, it is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to enjoy some of Maine’s finest properties at greatly reduced rates.”
To take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to Habitat for Humanity while experiencing some of Maine’s finest inns, hotels and B&B’s at affordable rates, visit The Maine Innkeepers web page at www.maineinns.com . Direct Links to each property will provide information on specific room rates, availability, and individual property restrictions. Reservations for accommodation between April 25 and May 23th 2012 should be made in advance and donations for $35 should be given to the Innkeeper, made in the form of a check, and written out to Habitat for Humanity. Every dollar donated will be given to the 9 Maine chapters of Habitat for Humanity to help build homes.
