TIME TO BOOK MAINE GETAWAYS WITH 50% REDUCED ROOM RATES WITH MAINE INNKEEPERS ASSOCIATION HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FUNDRAISER Innkeepers generate spring tourism with greatly reduced rates Freeport, ME – March 24, 2012 – It may have felt like summer last week, but Innkeepers all over the state of Maine are focusing on attracting visitors to Maine this spring with greatly reduced rates to support Hospitality for Habitat, an annual Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) fundraiser that raises money for Maine chapters of Habitat for Humanity. Participating Innkeepers will reduce their room rates by half between April 25 and May 23, 2012, announced Greg Dugal, MEIA Executive Director, for any guest willing to write a tax deductible, $35 donation check made out to Habitat for Humanity. This year Hospitality for Habitat hopes to top $100,000 raised by the program since it began in 2004. The program was designed to offer visitors greatly reduced room rates while helping to raise funds to help build homes for deserving Maine families. Each year participating Innkeepers and their guests have been able to increase the donation made to the 9 Maine chapters of Habitat for Humanity. In 2011 the association raised $17,000. “This spring has started out well weather wise and I am sure the program will capitalize on visitors wanting to enjoy Maine’s great outdoor activities a little earlier this year,” stated Dugal. “The program continues to be a huge success year after year. Innkeepers and visitors both love the opportunity to enjoy Maine’s finest properties at a 50% off regular rates while giving back to the local communities.” To take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to Habitat for Humanity while experiencing some of Maine’s finest inns, hotels and B&B’s at affordable rates, visit The Maine Innkeepers web page at www.maineinns.com .
