Dylan Bouchard of Greenville Awarded Maine Innkeepers Association Education Foundation Scholarship
Freeport, ME – June 19, 2012 –Dylan Bouchard of Greenville was awarded a scholarship by The Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation, affiliated with the Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) at the eighth annual Tees & Textbooks event, at the Senator Inn and SPA in Augusta, on June 4th, 2012, announced Greg Dugal, Executive Director at MEIA.
Bouchard is currently attending the University of Maine, in Orono, Maine. A current employee of the Blair Hill Inn , Bouchard is very passionate about economics and hopes to complete his Masters in Business Administration.
Bouchard was awarded the Harold Nelson and Irving Small Scholarship Award for $500. sponsored by Nelson & Small, Inc.
The Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation has awarded 249 Maine students with over $157,800 since the scholarship program began in 1984. The program was designed to inspire Maine students pursuing hospitality careers and this year 9 more students were presented with scholarships totaling $8200.
“We are delighted to continue to offer support to these fine Maine students,” stated Dugal. “We hope that many of the recipients will be inspired to stay in Maine and pursue their careers in the state.”
Scholarships are awarded after review by a selection committee who consider scholastic records, financial need, extracurricular activities and a desire to work in hospitality to Maine students enrolled at fully accredited schools with specialties in culinary arts or hotel administration. This includes hospitality schools in the State University System, private Universities or Colleges, and Maine Community College Systems. Non- hospitality awards may also be available to employees and their families or family members of innkeepers.
