FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Press Contact information: Sara Brazer Brazer Communications (860) 354-5260 Greg Dugal The Maine Innkeepers Association (207) 865-6100 Maine Innkeepers Association Wins National Award of Excellence Freeport, ME – September 16, 2004 – The Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA), a leading provider of information and support to the lodging and tourism industry of Maine, announced today that it has been selected as a winner of an Award of Excellence from the International Society of Hotel Association Executives (ISHAE). MEIA is a winner in the category of “Best public relations/communications program among hotel and lodging associations with annual budgets under $500,000.” The award recognizes the association’s participation in a recent in-state marketing campaign, consisting of public service announcement commercials on local television stations; conducted in collaboration with several state tourism-related associations, regional tourism groups, and the state tourism commission. The Maine Innkeepers Association will be formally recognized at the Society’s annual awards luncheon, scheduled to take place during its annual winter conference – December 1 to 4, 2004 at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort, Florida. ISHAE is comprised of Executive Directors of Lodging/Hotel Associations from each state, and was developed to facilitate the sharing of ideas and provide support to strengthen American Hotel & Lodging Association Member State Associations.
