FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Press Contact information: Sara Brazer Brazer Communications (860) 355-8229 Greg Dugal, Executive Director Maine Innkeepers Association (207) 865-6100 THE MAINE INNKEEPERS ASSOCIATION INTRODUCES THE FIRST HOSPITALITY JOB & RESUME PORTAL IN MAINE Freeport, ME – May 17, 2006 – The Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA), a leading provider of information and support to the lodging and tourism industry of Maine, is pleased to announce that its Job & Resume Portal is now being offered on its website – www.maineinns.com. The MEIA Job & Resume Portal is available for all employees looking for job openings around the State of Maine; and to all Maine Innkeepers Association members, that are looking for help both in seasonal and full time positions. The service, which is free, will allow people direct access to others in the industry without having to dig through all other industry jobs first. Employees can download their resume onto www.maineinns.com; and before it gets posted, the information is run through a review process from the Association to make sure it is appropriate for the website. Once the information is approved and the resume is posted live…the information is then accessible to all MEIA members – nearly 800 B&Bs, camps, cottages, hotels, inns, motels and resorts across Maine, and their suppliers. Likewise, employers can post a job to the website and it is posted live for all interested applicants. “Many people looking for a job in this industry are not given direct access all the time to the right people, making it hard to find the job that person wants, or in the place that they desire,” said Greg Dugal, Executive Director, MEIA. “Our hope is that with this new, free service, both employers and employees will cut down the time it takes to find each other.” “There are many wonderful job services in our State, but nothing that is dedicated just to the hospitality industry. We hope that we can assist people in finding what they need and want, and also cut down the time it takes to find it!” continued Dugal.
