THE MAINE INNKEEPERS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES
HOSPITALITY FOR HABITAT 2010 WITH GREAT RATES FOR A GREAT CAUSE

Innkeepers slash rates by 50% in support of Habitat for Humanity and encourage spring
travel to Maine

Freeport, ME January 24, 2010 Rates will be reduced by 50% at some of Maines finest Inns and resorts this spring in support of Hospitality for Habitat, a Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) program originally designed to raise funds for local chapters of Habitat for Humanity while encouraging spring travel to Maine, announced Greg Dugal, Executive Director of MEIA. This year, after the devastating earth quake in Haiti, a portion of the funds raised will be distributed to Habitat for Humanity projects in Haiti as well.

Innkeepers all over the state, participating in the seventh annual Hospitality for Habitat, will reduce their room rates by half between April 26th and May 28th 2010 in exchange for a $35 donation check payable to Habitat for Humanity. Every dollar donated goes to help build homes for deserving families.

Hospitality for Habitat offers visitors to Maine a terrific opportunity to experience our very best B&Bs, hotels and resorts at deeply discounted rates, while giving back in a significant way, said Dugal. The program is perfect for the times as it offers great value to travelers, helps bring visitors to the state during a traditionally slow period, and at the same time, supports a great cause.

The program has grown each year since 2004 when MEIA first teamed up with Habitat for Humanity. Last year, despite a challenging economic climate, 37 member properties raised $16,275., and the Assocation has donated over $30,000 to help build Habitat homes since the programs inception.

Were thrilled that so many member properties support Hospitality for Habitat each year, as we recognize that every new home represents an enormous change for the better in someones life, stated Dugal. Its the perfect fit- Innkeepers provide comfortable lodging for travelers; Habitat for Humanity provides comfortable lodging for families not otherwise able to afford it.

To take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to a great cause while visiting some of Maines finest inns, hotels and B&Bs at affordable rates, visit The Maine Innkeepers web page at www.maineinns.com . Click on the Hospitality for Habitat Logo for a frequently updated list of participating properties. Direct Links to each property will provide information on specific room rates, availability, and restrictions. Reservations for accommodation between April 26 and May 28th 2010 should be made in advance and donations for $35 should be given to the Innkeeper, made in the form of a check, and written out to Habitat for Humanity. Every dollar donated will help build houses for low income families in Maine.

Participating properties currently include: Bar Harbor: Graycote Inn, Mira Monte Inn; Bass Harbor: Bass Harbor Cottages & Country Inn; Cape Elizabeth / Greater Portland: Inn by the Sea; Deer Isle: Pilgrims Inn; Ellsworth: Twilite Motel; Freeport: Captain Briggs House B&B, Harraseeket Inn, Hilton Garden Downtown, White Cedar Inn; Kennebunkport: Captain Jefferds Inn, Nonantum Resort; Newcastle: Flying Cloud B&B, Newcastle Inn; Ogunquit: Beachmere Inn, Ogunquit Inn; Sebasco Estates: Sebasco Harbor Resort; Wells: Village by the Sea
