The 2015 Annual MEIA Awards were presented to outstanding members of the tourism industry who had greatly contributed to the lodging/hospitality and tourism industry in the state. Ratte received the recognition from Jeanne Carpentier of Emerald Hospitality. The Community Service Award is presented to lodging operators who have taken part in community activities and have made a contribution personally or in the name of the industry or property to the community. Ratte works for Giri Hotels as an Assistant General Manager but also teaches hospitality at both Thomas College and Kennebec Valley Community College where she is motivating a new generation of hotel and restaurant employees in her chosen field. Ratte is the Co-chair of MEIA’s Education and Scholarship Committee and was previously recognized with the Mid Coast Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Professional Award. She received an Associate of Science degree from Husson College in 1979 Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas College in 1986 and Masters of Business Administration in 1988 from Thomas College.
