The 2015 Annual MEIA Awards were presented to outstanding members of the tourism industry who had greatly contributed to the lodging/hospitality and tourism industry in the state. Connie Russell of the Samoset Resort presented Carpentier with the recognition which is awarded to past Chairs of the Association. Russell stated Carpentier who was active and served on the MEIA board for several years was an inspirational leader of the association during her tenure as chair. Carpentier also served as President of the Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation for many years and will now serve as it’s treasurer for the next two years. Carpentier is currently the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Emerald Hospitality. Previously she was the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown in Freeport. Carpentier has had a long career in Maine’s hotel industry. She served alongside former Maine Innkeepers Association President Tom Grimes as part of the management group that operated the Hampton Inn in South Portland and was also part of the team with Grimes which opened the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport in 2005. In 1986 Carpentier graduated from the School of Business at the University of Southern Maine.
