This annual award is presented to an allied member of MEIA who is active in the hospitality industry and has made a significant contribution to it on behalf of the supplier community. Hildreth who came to Sugarloaf in 1970 as ski instructor eventually worked his way up to Marketing Director for the mountain and later was General Manager for the Sugarloaf Inn. In 1996 Hildreth managed the Kennebec division of the New England Outdoor Center and became an investor in the Carrabasset Coffee Company where he has remained for 17 years. He credits Innkeepers for being his first and longest serving customers. Hildreth was President of the Maine Publicity Bureau in 1982 and has served on that Board on and off for ten years. Hildreth was one of the original members of the Maine Tourism Commission and also supports Maine Huts & Trails the Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Club and the Nature Conservancy. The inscription on the Allied Member of the Year Award reads: A former innkeeper Tom understands the importance of Allied Members supporting the Association for its Lodging Members.
