Press Contact information: Rauni Kew 207 602-8500 Greg Dugal Executive Director Maine Innkeepers Association (207) 865-6100 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE VAUGHN STINSON OF MAINE TOURISM ASSOCIATION RECEIVES 2012 SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD FROM MAINE INNKEEPERS ASSOCIATION Freeport Maine November 23 2012……Vaughn Stinson Chief Executive Officer of the Maine Tourism Association was honored with the 2012 Special Service Award by the Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) at their 91st annual meeting and conference held November 5-6 2012 at the Grand Summit Resort and Conference Center in Newry Maine. MEIA Executive Director Greg Dugal presented Stinson with the Special Service Award which is presented annually by MEIA to a person who has actively contributed to the hospitality industry as a whole. Stinson began his tourism career with Delta Air Lines in 1968 in Miami Florida. Over the next 26 years with Delta Stinson held various positions in customer service sales and marketing in several cities including Portland Maine. Stinson gained critical tourism experience as Director of Tourism for the State of Mississippi before returning to Maine to take over as Chief Executive Officer of the Maine Tourism Association located in Hallowell. The inscription on the MEIA award presented to Stinson reads: “Vaughn’s efforts at the Maine Tourism Association have made that organization what it is today an extremely successful tourism marketing and advocacy leader. He has been very supportive to the Maine Innkeepers Association and its Executive Director. Many thanks!” Stinson’s responsibilities heading up the Maine Tourism Association include publishing several tourism guides to promote Maine as a tourism destination. These publications include the official travel planner Maine Invites You and the Official Maine Highway Map which are distributed worldwide the Maine Guide to Inns and Bed & Breakfasts and Camps & Cottages and the Maine Attractions & Services Map.
